The Sartori Sartori Story

In 2009 Deborah Anne Simcox decided to follow a life long dream of creating an Avant-garde evening wear brand, that would not only be unique in its design aesthetic but also in its concept.

The name ‘Sartori Sartori’ was innovated through the desire to portray the brand concept from its foundation all the way to its creation. ‘Sartori’ is an Italian family name which means; the family of tailors. Like a natural progression ‘The List’ was born from the noun Sartorialist; Sartorialist is a person who practices or is interested in Sartorialism. ‘The List’ became the platform where seasonal guest artists are profiled and became an integral keystone to the brand identity.

The Brand concept is an individualistic one where by artists from a variety of genres are invited to contribute their particular skill towards a season. Genres may range from art, graphics, and textile to photography and through the fusion of these artists and integration within the Sartori Sartori range; every season is unique. As a result of this a platform is created for emerging artists encouraging freedom of thought and expression and supporting and encouraging local and international talent.

The Sartori Sartori design model is one that takes inspiration from eras such as punk and new romanticism for alternative styling but also looks to periods such as the Victorian period for distinctive traditional tailoring techniques.

This Dubai-based brand, currently in its fourth season with a portfolio of stockists in the UAE and GCC countries and an online shopping store that makes it possible to buy dresses online, plays a big role in bringing modernism to the Dubai Fashion scene and the rest of the Middle East region.
